We got Gypsy about three or nearly four years ago from the SPCA in Leigh. After having her for about a week, we realised that she was deaf. Not just slightly, fully deaf. When you come up behind her, she never turns around or runs away, when she is asleep and you wake her up by patting her she always gets a massive fright because she can't hear you approach her, when you call out to her she never shows any sign that there is any noise around her and when you vacuum right next to her she just carries on as normal.
She is a Birman cat which is one of the three oriental cats.
The Birman cat originated in Western Burma..
This is a picture I took of her... She should be on the Whiskers packets ! =]
